Update! Things have been pretty busy this competition season and we`ve fallen behind on some of our results. Here`s a quick update. In the past month, we`ve had both @IBJJF Pan Ams and the Chicago Spring Open. We`re going to catch up and have action shots as well as podium pics, but for now! We had our students come home from Pan ams with 5 gold medals, 2 silver, and 2 Bronze. We also had a fair number of students (some newer to competition) go to the Chicago Spring Open; coming home 3 gold medals, 3 silver, and 10 bronze.

While we don`t expect or force anyone into competition, we`re very proud to see people step up and do their best at it. We also want to take the opportunity to thank the students who train with the competitors and for those who showed up at the tournaments to support and cheer! We often think of Jiu Jitsu is a solo sport, because we are the only one on the mat with our opponent. The @IBJJF Chicago Spring Open`s preschedule is up! We`re still waiting on the brackets, but it looks like all colored belts (Gi divisions) will be going Saturday and White belts will be on Sunday. We`ve been announcing it in class and it should come as no surprise that anyone competing needs an IBJJF approved gi. If you`re uncertain of whether or not your gi is legal PLEASE talk to one of the coaches ASAP! If you`re worried about the fit of your gi, we can check that too.

If you`re interested in watching the competition, we`d be happy to have you out there with us. We will still be running our normal classes this weekend for anyone who can`t make it.
